Sometimes a site refuses to load properly even though your internet seems fine. Buttons do nothing, images are missing or the page looks like last month's version. Often the culprit is stored data in the browser. This guide explains what the cache is, how to clear it on a phone and what to do if that does not help.
What the cache is
Your browser keeps copies of images, scripts and styles so that pages load faster next time. Usually that is helpful. But if a site changes and your browser holds an older copy, the two can clash, producing broken layouts or stuck screens.
Cookies are a separate item: small notes that sites use to remember you, such as being signed in. Clearing the cache does not necessarily remove cookies, though many phones bundle them in one menu.
In short: cache speeds things up, but old copies can cause glitches.
How to clear it on a phone
Open your browser's menu and go to Settings, then Privacy or Site Settings. Look for Clear browsing data. Choose cached images and files, and decide whether to include cookies. Pick a time range, and confirm. The exact words differ between browsers, but the steps are similar.
If you are unsure which items to tick, choose only cached images and files first. That is the least disruptive option and often enough. You can return and clear cookies and site data later if the problem remains. Some browsers also offer a per-site option, which lets you clear data just for one address and leave everything else alone.
Alternatively, on Android you can open the phone's Settings, find the browser in the Apps list, choose Storage and tap Clear cache. Restart the browser afterward and reopen the site by typing the address yourself.
In short: Settings, privacy, clear cached files, restart.
- Open browser Settings and find Clear browsing data
- Select cached images and files
- Decide whether to include cookies
- Restart the browser and reopen the site
What you lose and keep
Clearing the cache removes stored copies of pages, so the first load afterward may be slower. Clearing cookies signs you out of sites, which means you need your username and password ready. Do not clear anything if you cannot remember your login details. Your account itself lives on the brand's servers and is unaffected.
If you use the 66ZZ app rather than the browser, the app has its own cache under the phone's app settings. Clearing it works the same way.
In short: you lose speed and sign-ins temporarily, not your account.
If it still does not load
Check that your mobile data or Wi-Fi is working by opening another site. Make sure you are on the official address, because a look-alike domain can fail or show a different page; read our fake APK guide for address-checking habits. The brand also lists alternative addresses, which you can see on the login hub.
Try another browser or restart your phone. If the problem remains, contact support on the brand's official site, since we cannot see or fix accounts.
In short: test your connection, check the address, then try another browser.
Preventing repeat trouble
Keep your browser and phone system updated, since old software can misread newer pages. Avoid installing too many extensions, and free storage space if your phone is nearly full. A low-storage phone struggles to cache anything properly.
A final tip: if loading problems appear only on mobile data, try Wi-Fi, and the other way round. Network settings, a weak signal or a saver mode can mimic a cache problem.
Doing a cache clear every few weeks is a sensible habit, not a requirement. In short: updates and free space prevent most repeat glitches.
